Provenance & product information

Actinidia Deliciosa 'Jenny' is a popular self-pollinating kiwi variety. Jenny is a large deciduous, tall-rising, monoecious climbing plant with heart-shaped mid-green red-hairy leaves. The common kiwi requires a male and a female plant to bear fruit. In the flowers of Actinidia 'Jenny', both stamens and pistils are developed. So you no longer need to plant a female and male plant to get fruit. The fruits are slightly smaller than the common kiwi, but certainly no less delicious. The fruits are very healthy and contain a large amount of vitamin C. You can eat the fruits as they are or possibly make them into jam or compote. The kiwi blooms in June, the creamy white flowers provide a lovely fragrance in your garden.

Care for

This kiwi plant grows very quickly. It is important to support the supple stems of this vine. You can tie them along a climbing element, pergola or along netting. Prune the twigs back to 40 cm annually after June. It is important to cut off the fruit stems in the process. The kiwi plant is a real climber that needs space, the length of growth is at least 5 metres. The Actinidia Deliciosa bears its fruit from the third year of life.

Plant height

The plants are delivered with a height of 30-40 cm.
