Eucomis autumnalis has a striking green crest at the top of its greenish-white flowers. The stem is green with purple speckles. Plant the Eucomis in a sunny, warm spot in moist, humus-rich soil. Eucomis can be planted either in the garden or in a pot. After flowering, these flowers are still decorative. In autumn, the bulbs should overwinter out of the ground in a cool frost-free place.
