The Zantedeschia Callafornia Red with its special purple colour can be planted indoors or outdoors. Plant the tuber in a pot with good soil. Then place the Zantedeschia directly in full light and water it regularly. With the Zantedeschia, the leaves develop first and then the striking flowers. After danger of night frost has disappeared, the Zantedeschia can also be planted outdoors. Plant them 10 cm. deep in humus-rich, well-drained soil in a spot in full sun. Zantedeschia likes to grow in fairly moist soil. When planting in pots and planters, always use new potting soil. In a garden with fairly moist soil, Zantedeschia combines well with hostas, among others. Water the Zantedeschia quite a lot in summer; the soil should be slightly moist all the time. For potted plants, put a saucer under the pot and always leave a little water in it during dry periods. The Zantedeschia is not resistant to frost. Therefore, it is recommended to grow plants in a pot and overwinter them frost-free. Keep the potting soil on the dry side in winter. Water more in early spring and put the Zantedeschia outside again in spring (after the last night frost).
