Gladiolus callianthus murielae - Buy 15 Bulbs?

Height in cm 80
Flowering time August - September
Planting time April - May

The small-flowered Gladiolus callianthus (Abyssinian gladiolus) is a true summer bloomer. These special, gladiolus-like flowers grow to 80 cm high and are also beautiful cut flowers. The Abyssinian gladioli are abundantly flowering and should not be missing in your summer flower garden. You can plant the tubers about 7-10 cm deep in spring. First loosen the soil well and sprinkle a layer of sharp sand at the bottom of the planting hole. This allows rainwater to drain well under the tubers. Place the tubers about 10-12 cm apart. While planting, add some good potting soil. Mix heavy (clay) soil with sharp sand before planting. This large-flowered gladiolus likes to grow in a warm sunny spot. This Abyssinian gladiolus has a beautiful white colour and is therefore easy to combine. You can create special combinations with it in the border with perennials, dahlias and other summer flowers. Do you use this gladiolus as a cut flower? If so, pick the stems when the bottom flower opens, preferably early in the morning. Place the stems immediately in a vase of lukewarm water with cut flower food.
