Blue Rain - Wisteria - 3 Plants - Climbing Plants Buy?
- This set contains 3 Wisteria, Blue Rain, plants
The Wisteria, better known in the Netherlands as the Blue Rain, is an exuberantly flowering creeper that is often planted as a climbing plant against pergolas or against walls and fences. The plant originated in the United States, China and Japan.
It is a strong-growing vine with beautiful blue flowers hanging down. The long flower clusters are fragrant and can grow up to 25 cm long. In the beginning, the plants do need some support, as the branches do not yet have adhesive roots. A fully grown Wisteria can become quite heavy. A sturdily constructed pergola is therefore recommended. It is important to guide the twigs in such a way that they cannot damage drainpipes or gutters.
Wisteria sinensis is a deciduous plant. This means that during autumn this plant loses its leaves and is completely bare in winter. In spring the leaves grow back again.
Care for
The Wisteria is not a difficult plant, but it does need to be guided on a wall or against a pergola. The plant likes a lot of sun and moist soil. The plant is very hardy and should be pruned once or twice a year. Bear in mind that it will take several years until the Wisteria flowers profusely.
Plant height
The plants are delivered with a total height of 20 - 30 cm (measured including pot). The Wisteria plants are delivered in pots with a diameter/diameter of 9cm.
Note: The Blue Rain is a deciduous plant, during autumn, winter and early spring this plant is therefore delivered without leaves. In the warm spring, the plant will start developing new leaves again.
