Aquilegia (Akelei) 'Black Barlow' blooms with its almost black coloured flowers from May to June. Aquilegia are among other things known, and perhaps loved, for being self-seeding. They combine nicely with other pink or purple perennials. Aquilegia prefer a sunny spot, but they often thrive in the semi-shade as well. In principle, any soil type will do, with the exception of (heavy) clay soils. The height of Aquilegia 'Black Barlow' is 50-60 cm.
