The orange trumpet lily African Queen is a wonderful garden and cut flower. Lilies look great in groups among perennials and shrubs. Their height is 100 cm. After flowering, they can be left quietly in the ground and will bloom again year after year. The lilies are also great for in flower pots or planters. The planting depth of a lily is between 10 and 15 cm. Before planting the bulbs, make sure the soil is airy and permeable to moisture. Plant lilies sheltered from the wind along a fence or among other plants, shrubs and trees. The flowers like to be in the sun. Bulbs of lilies can be planted both in spring, around April-May, and in autumn, October-November. In case of frost, it is best to protect the bulbs and any shoots that have already emerged with some leaves or branches. It is recommended to transplant lilies every 3-4 years. They will then draw new energy from the new soil and the lilies will bloom beautifully and colourfully for years to come. Beware of the orange lily bug: it is the lily's greatest enemy! The bugs are best controlled by removing them manually. There are various pesticides, but lily beetles quickly become immune to these.
