One of the fastest and highest-growing trees in the world, spread from Australia (through human intervention) throughout the (sub)tropical world. The leaves are almost always greyish toned and have a strong minty scent, caused by the eucalyptus oil. This is used for inhalation and massage.
This species has the strongest lemon scent of all Eucalyptus. The leaves are also cooked with it as a flavouring, or in potpourris. Overwinter frost-free or as a houseplant.
Sowing method
Sowing: the fine seed germinates best in a warm place in finely sifted soil. Press or cover with a thin layer of sowing soil. Can be sown indoors all year round.
