Firstling seed potatoes actually indicate their specialisation in their name. It is a potato variety that can be planted as one of the earliest varieties in the year. It is therefore an early potato variety with a high yield. The Eersteling potatoes have a nice light colour and a fine taste. The potatoes can be used for cooking and are described as firm cooking/ fairly firm cooking.
Growing Eersteling seed potatoes
You can plant the firstlings in March and April. Use a planting distance of about 30 centimetres between the seed potatoes and about 65 centimetres between the various rows. The planting potatoes have a diameter of 28-40 millimetres. If the cultivation has gone well, you can harvest the potatoes in the months of June/July. This potato grows best when grown on well-drained soil. And then. harvest it!
