Artichoke - Buy 3 Plants?

Growing Artichoke as a flower

A very nice thing about the Artichoke is that this plant is perennial. So you only need to sow or plant it once, and you can enjoy it for years. The advantage of planting rhizomes, as opposed to sowing, is that you can harvest faster and more in the first year. The plants are already more developed by then, and as with cuttings, the plant is ready to harvest earlier. Handy!

Purple Artichoke growing vegetable garden

This pack contains 1 Artichoke rhizome. You can plant this rhizome in May, June and July. Do wait until no more frost is declared. Water well after planting and then let nature do its work. In the first year, 1 or 2 Artichokes grow, the following years this number grows substantially. You can harvest the first Artichokes from as early as June. The flowers will bloom in July and August. Artichoke can grow considerably and reach 175 centimetres in height.
