They stand out for their size and colours: a combination of an orange-brown centre surrounded by contrasting white petals. Even when the flower has finished blooming and the white petals hang down discoloured, this flower still has ornamental value. An added attraction is that during flowering it is a coming and going of countless bumblebees and butterflies. Height 70-80 cm. Echinacea is suitable for sunny spots and fertile soil that is not too wet. Give this plant a 3 to 4 cm layer of compost every autumn so that it does not have to fight too hard with other species for nutrients.
